Varanasi Corona News: 5 New positive cases reported in the holy city Varanasi on Friday. Total corona positive cases in Varanasi increased to 14!
Just when things were starting to look normal for the residents of Varanasi, 5 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the city on Friday. This has also lowered the possibility of relaxation from 20 April as announced by PM Modi in his last general address to the nation.
As per the DM of Varanasi, Mr Kaushal Raj Sharma the sample reports from BHU labs confirms that three attendees of the Tablighi Jamaat event in Delhi have been found positive. The first report of all three was negative! Among the three Tablighi Jamaat participants a 55-year-old individual is from Madanpura Area, a 40-year-old individual is the local of Hyderabad, and a 70-year-old person belongs to Nakkhighat area.
Two other people including a 19-year-old boy and a 21-year-old girl from the same house in Pandey Haveli have also been found positive. Sources suggest that five women from Telangana stayed in their house for 2 days who priorly attended the Tablighi Jamaat event in Delhi.
Because of the new rise, the total number of corona positive cases in Varanasi has climbed to 14 out of which 5 have been cured, 1 died and 8 are currently in isolation-ward of DDU Hospital. The number of hotspots in Varanasi has been increased to five from four with the new addition of Nakkhighat area.
Varanasi (Also known as Banaras) was taking some calm breath as no corona cases were reported in the last 10 days. However, with five new corona positive cases in one day, the dynamics have completely changed. Residents of the city have been asked to follow the lockdown sincerely and avoid going out of home unless very necessary. Up to now, 849 confirmed corona cases have been reported in Uttar Pradesh, out of which 753 are active, 82 have been recovered and 14 have died.
The nationwide toll stands at 13,835 confirmed corona positive cases out of which 1,767 have been recovered and 452 people have died because of the pandemic.
