Bihar Exit Polls 2020: Various news channels and survey agencies have predicted a clear win for the opposition Grand Alliance or Mahagathbandhan. This would mean a return of the RJD government or “Lalu Raj” in Patna, Bihar. BJP and JD(U) in Bihar who is currently running the government reacted with skepticism on the polls.
The exit polls conducted by several news channels and polling agencies suggest that the Tejashwi-led grand alliance is ahead of NDA in Bihar and the state is likely to form the government in Patna, Bihar.

NDA rejected the exit polls result
“The state has 6.97 crore voters and 3.90 crores of them have exercised their franchise. To project the poll outcome on the basis of a survey of 15,000-20,000 voters is unjustified,” state BJP spokesman Prem Ranjan Patel said.
He added, “We are confident that the NDA will form the government with a majority.”
JD(U) spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad also said that the “actual poll results would be different”.
“Normally, the agencies approach aggressive voters. The voters of NDA, who have stayed with Nitish Kumar for long, are generally silent. It is quite possible that the agencies did not access these silent voters of the NDA,” he said.
Congress said Bihar has voted for a change soon after exit pool release
Congress who is part of the opposition’s Nahagathbandhan said Bihar has voted for change. Senior spokesperson of Congress, Randeep Surjewala said – exit polls are interesting as they provided employment to some people who use small samples, but people speak up at the end. “We are confident that Bihar has voted for a change and Bihar will vote for the change,” he told reporters.
The RJD also appeared satisfied with the exit poll results. “The Mahagathbandh will win the polls with a two-thirds majority. It will be the victory of people,” RJD spokesman Chitranjan Gagan said.
Chirag Paswan won’t make much difference
Most exit polls gave the RJD-Congress-Left alliance a clear edge over the JD(U)-BJP coalition in the 243-member Assembly. All polls predicted that Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party, which contested alone and hoped to play a key in government formation post elections, would end up with single-digit seats.
Although Exit Polls results are not actual, and in the past many times it has been proven wrong. BJP and NDA would be hoping that the Exit poll comes out to be wrong again.
